Shah opened up about her journey with her weight to Times of India. She says that one of her secrets was cooking healthier foods. "I started cooking during the lockdown which I have never done. I started cooking healthy food and Krushna started losing weight because of me. I began eating healthy food, smaller portions and suddenly in October I checked my weight. Till September I had not checked my weight. Because we celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi and make delicious food, I wanted to eat. I decided to check my weight and I lost 11 kgs. I didn't even realise that I had lost so much weight because I did not step out of the house and wore clothes which I wear at home like shorts, t-shirts. We all were shocked."
When it comes to weight loss, Shah is consistent. She tells Times of India that she kept motivating herself to work hard. "I told myself, if I can lose 11 kgs then I can get rid of one more. In the last month, I lost two kilos. I was always 56 kgs, now I am 58."
Shah isn't going to let her age or profession stop her from feeling confident in herself. She tells TellyChakkar that she's still confident with herself, and is still showing off her body. "There is this mindset that once a woman becomes a mother, she can't do bold photoshoots," she says. "This country is known for its strong women. Why are you telling us to sit at home just because we are mothers?"
One thing Shah did to motivate herself was buy smaller clothes. "I would wear a 4 size dress, but when I gained weight in December I would not fit in 4 and not even 6. I was fitting into 8 sizes and the large size L became my size. I went to a mall to buy winter clothes because we don't have cold weather here. So, I had not carried a sweater. When I went to buy a sweater, I realised that I had to buy sweaters which were L. I was so upset that I did not buy warm clothes and a sweater in that cold weather. I went and bought all the small 4 sizes. I told myself that I won't wear it this year, but I will make sure to wear it soon. I kept that as a mark. I told myself I eat too much and now I have to look after myself. I came back around Christmas and Krushna also told me let the New Year's go then start. Then we started from January 3. Krushna also started dieting with me."
Shah has a lot of confidence, and she doesn't care what other people say about her. She tells TellyChakkar, "I am not going to let some silly 14-year-old or 24-year-old with their mother's phone run me down or shake my confidence. I was like this at 19, 29, 39 and today at 49, I am proud to give myself another chance. I am also happy that I am going back to Bigg Boss, it marks my comeback."
