Thomas Scherer Named EVP US Publishing At BMG
LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Following the appointment of Zach Katz as President, Repertoire & Marketing of BMG US, the label group has named Thomas Scherer as their EVP of US Publishing.
In his new role, Scherer will have oversite of BMG’s LA and New York-based publishing teams, as well as continuing in his current capacity as EVP of International Writer Services.
Scherer has helped shape BMG’s LA-based Writer Services, including the development of its popular SoundLab writer's camps. As well, he has had a hand in signing and acquisitions in US, Europe, Asia, and Australia as well as coordinating BMG’s services for professional songwriters.
Thomas Scherer has more than 30 years experience in the music industry, first as a drummer and successful music producer in his native Germany, and later with his own label through the old BMG. After founding his own companies in Germany and Japan, he joined the new BMG in its Berlin head office shortly after its creation in 2008. He relocated to BMG’s LA office in 2014. – Staff Writers
